What are Alison’s qualifications?
I undertook an accredited degree, graduating in 1987 and then became a Chartered surveyor in 1989.
What has been Alison’s career path to date?
I have worked in private practice as a commercial valuation surveyor, prior to joining Edinburgh Napier University. Within the University, I teach on the Undergraduate Real Estate Surveying programme and I am the programme leader for the Masters degree in Real Estate Management and Investment. Other roles within the University include: Academic Partner for SEBE (School of Engineering and The Built Environment) and Chair of the SEBE Staff Student Liaison Committee.
I was appointed as the external examiner for the MSc Real Estate and MSc Property Development & Planning at London South Bank University. I also act as an Assessor for the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. This is the final step that practitioners need to achieve to become Chartered.
