Did you know that, as part of our commitment to Athena Swan, the Employer Mentoring Programme is open to any 3rd or 4th year female student studying courses in the Schools of Computing and Engineering & Built Environment?
This is a unique opportunity to meet with a successful professional person employed in a career area you’re interested to explore. Your mentor is willing to offer you their time and inside knowledge of the world of work. Your mentor is also there to support you with your career planning – encouraging you to identify your strengths and job roles you might enjoy.
Practical conversations include learning about different recruitment methods, writing CVs and application forms, practicing interviews and building a productive network of contacts
To secure a place you need to complete an application form and then attend an induction. We have great mentors and we’ll chat more with you about who could be a good match for you after you attend induction.
“My mentor was an excellent match! It has really given me confidence and
more knowledge about what I can and want to do after graduation.”
