Connect is the network for women studying in the School of Computing, School of Applied Science and the School of Engineering and the Built environment at Edinburgh Napier University. Our two student groups (one for each school) meet regularly throughout the academic year, normally every couple of weeks on campus.
Our get-togethers are very informal and include social gatherings, guest speakers from industry and academia, networking lunches and workplace visits with employers.Getting involved in Connect is a great way to meet other women students, meet inspiring women in industry and to enhance your CV and employability.
Connect is currently coordinated by Student Project Officer Sara Orr-Saiz based at the Edinburgh Napier Merchiston Campus. Cheryl McCreadie also coordinates Interconnect which is the Scotland-wide network and Edinburgh Napier students can benefit from being part of this too.
We have one Connect Student Champion this year (currently Julia Jeng) whose role is to help the Student Project Officer organise and promote Connect and Interconnect activities to students. We also work with Kate and Debbie our Academic Champions who work alongside the rest of the team to develop Connect.
All women students studying computing, engineering and built environment are welcome to join Connect. If you’d like to get involved or would like further information please use our contact form or join the Facebook group for your school below:
